There are statements that a ball game, similar to soccer, has been played 3000 years ago. In the Greek and Roman variants, teams could consist of up to 27 players. In 2nd and 3rd centuries BC the Chinese military played a similar game - the aim was to kick the ball into a small net. However, Britain remains the undisputed birthplace of modern soccer. It was a popular sport for the masses in Britain from the 8th century AD up until nowadays. However, it was a rather dangerous sport because hundreds of people took part in a single game and injuries were inevitable. That was the reason for several attempts to ban the game. But nothing could stop the people that loved soccer and the first world soccer competition was held in Uruguay in 1930.

I love thee with all my tastebuds.
I love thee with all my heart.
I collect thy wrappers and decorate them on my walls.
I eat thee every three days of my life.
Back then, I used to eat thee one bar a day... BUT I felt sick after a month of doing such a stunt.Still and all, I LOVE YOU!

- Worn Me Down Lyrics
Gone, she's gone
How do you feel about it
That's what I thoughtYou're real torn up about it
And I wish you the best
But I could do without it
And I will, because you've worn me down
Oh, I will, because you've worn me down
Worn me down like a road
I did everything you told
Worn me down to my knees
I did everything to please
But you can't stop thinking about her
No, you can't stop thinking about her
And you're wrong, you're wrong
I'm not overreacting
Something is off
Why don't we ever believe ourselves
And I, oh, I feel that word for you
And I will, because you've worn me down
Oh, I will because you have worn me down
Worn me down like a road
I did everything you told
Worn me down to my knees
I did everything to please
But you can't stop thinking about her
No, you can't stop thinking about her
She's so pretty; she's so damn right
But I'm so tired of thinking
About her tonight
Worn me down like a road
I did everything you told
Worn me down to my knees
I did everything to please
But you can't stop thinking about her
No, you can't stop thinking about her
Worn me down like a road
I did everything you told
Worn me down to my knees
I did everything to please
Worn me down like a road
I did everything you told to me to do
But you, you can't stop thinking about her
No, you can't stop thinking about her
No, you can't stop thinking about her
No, you can't stop thinking about her

with friends (L-R) Orie, Shiz, DJ Natsuki, Amanda
trying to figure out the turntable at Jigen-ya
My Japanese friend, a DJ of this hip club just near our university, gave me free party VIP passes so I invited some of my friends too. I decided to meet up with a friend at the gaijin (foreigner) benches and then went off to Jigen-ya (the club). We went inside, got our drink tickets and met lots of new people. [I'll use Taglish na kasi mahirap na baka maintindihan ni "someone". LOL]
And then... at the entrance pa lang super astig na ng dating! The band was rockin' big time tapos ang mas okay pa run eh 'yung vocalist nila ay effing gorgeous talaga! As in! I stared at him for minutes tapos grabe pa ung voice nya! I was screaming! Tapos English songs 'yung kinakanta niya kaya sabi ko 'SHUX! gaijin din siguro yun...' Tapos after ng band, reggae music naman... Super fun din. Nakakatuwa at para kaming nag-i-stop dance. LOL. After ng Reggae ay Hiphop at Rap Battle naman. Umakyat sa stage ung American friend ko tapos nag-rap siya... Yung first verses niya went like...
"Eigo de ii desu ka? Amerika kara kimashita..." (Is English okay? I am from America...)
And then... I dunno what happened but suddenly I had the guts to approach the hot vocalist and then managed to have a quick yet stupid conversation with him. I think I was tipsy and that's why... LOL. I asked him if he was a gaijin because he can speak good English. He nodded; he's actually half-gaijin. And then I told him that he has a great voice and then hurried back to my friends. LOL!! Define FLIRT! Haha! After that was s**tloads of dancing and wrestling and throwing stuff at other people. LOL! I'm not kidding. I got hit by a jumping guy and a flying mask! And then I got stuck in the middle of drunk crazy guys who are grabbing and wrestling one another! I was so scared. The place freaked me out! LOL
And then... more dancing with *toooot*! The best part: while I was getting my bike readied up because we are heading off to karaoke... The HOT vocalist came up to me and asked if I was about to go home... And then a little chat and then poof! His name is E.D. !!! I got his name! Woop. I told him to visit us at the gaijin benches and he is more than welcome to hang out there. After that encounter, I was literally screaming and giggling to my girlfriends! I just can't believe it! HE talked to me!
And then... fun, fun, fun (!!) 'til morning at a karaoke bar with mah crazy mates. Then went home and took a decent shower. I sooo love that day!!!! I just reminisce the memory through and through ;)

THE OC Season 4 Episode 5 "The Sleeping Beauty"
SETH: Isn't it kinda true?
TAYLOR: So what? Yes. I have a psychological predilection to become romantically-attached to men who are nice to me. Due to the fact that I was raised by a she-wolf of a mother who practices emotional terrorism. Does that mean that if by some miracle love does come into my life, I should deny it? What kind of person would that make me? What kind of life--?
SETH: Hm... Okay Taylor, what do you want me to do?
TAYLOR: Find out if he's ready to start dating!

Bad Day Music Video - Daniel Powter by DanielPowter420
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Coming from Vancouver, Canada, Daniel Powter has created the kind of album that is immediately appealing and at the same time, draws listeners in on many different levels. His self-titled album's first single, "Bad Day," has had unprecedented success in France, breaking the record for a pop artist that has existed for over 20 years when it topped the radio airplay singles chart for several weeks. France, where the album recently received a gold record award, was the first country to release the album. It's clear that Powter makes music people want to hear.
His songs are catchy, the rhythms infectious and the chords rock solid; built on the kind of time-honored heels that helps rock reinvent itself every few years. Daniel Powter found his way to this achievement in a fairly circuitous manner. He was raised in the pastoral splendor of the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, at first taking years of violin lessons, accompanied by his mother on piano. That devotion to music immediately made him an outsider to his schoolmates, but also helped Powter develop the kind of determination it takes to make a strong mark in the world of music.
Once the teenager found the piano, he knew that he'd discovered his calling. "There was a time my violin teacher looked over at me during one lesson and said, 'Your music is upside down,'" Powter recalls. "That's when I realized I had to break off from that structure of music and find my own way."
It wasn't long before Powter also started singing in high school bands. By his second show he knew he'd found his future. After recording a single and studying music at Edmonton's Grand MacEwan College, the 20-year-old performer decided it was time to strike out on his own. He moved to Vancouver and met producer Jeff Dawson. Together they began work in a tiny studio, writing songs and dreaming up big production ideas. "I says. "It was like a door opening. It became easy."
Over the next year, Powter wrote the songs that make up his self-titled debut album. Produced by Dawson and Mitchell Froom (whose credits include Elvis Costello, Crowded House, Los Lobos and Randy Newman) Daniel Powter is the kind of album that seems to come out of nowhere, but once the songs are heard, seems like it's always been there. It marks the arrival of an intriguing new voice, and judging by the success the music has already achieved in France and in other European countries, it's exactly the kind of music listeners here have been waiting for.

DANIEL POWTER- Bad Day Lyrics
Where is the moment we needed the most
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue skies fade to grey
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carryin' on
You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee to go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces everytime
And I don't need no carryin' on
Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Well you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carryin' on
You had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day (Oh.. Holiday..)
Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well oh that strong
And I'm not wrong
So where is the passion when you need it the most
Oh you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You've seen what you like
And how does it feel for one more time
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day

- Hakata-Nagahama Ramen Miyoshi
"Hakata-Nagahama Ramen Miyoshi," (博多 長浜 ラーメン みよし), a ramen restaurant in Kiya-machi, along the canal. As the name indicates, their ramen dishes are in the Kyushu style, that is, "Tonkotsu [lit. pork bone] taste." Highly recommended.
- Eishiro Ito
If you ask me, this place has the BEST ramen I have ever tasted in my entire ramen-hunting life. I have been to many ramen shops BUT this one is remarkable. Kiya-machi is popular for pubs, discos, and clubs. Therefore, when drunk and feelin' shitty, GO to this friggin' shop and EAT some ramen for comfort and contentment. BTW, everytime I go here I always have my bowl refilled with noodles. Trust me. It is this gooooood!

“They think of women as a possession...like money and bling. The music also corrupts the minds of the people, saying that sex is not a sacred way of showing affection but merely a hobby.”
-Mariel, Philippines
In our present society, it is blatantly shown, if not subtly, that women are portrayed as “trophies”- like a prize, a bling or of status-conscious men. Especially in our music industry, in hip-hop videos where women are treated like sexual objects for mere pleasure and a factor for boosting a man’s status in reality.
“Also, women begin to feel that they need to dress and act a certain way or they will not be accepted by men and the rest of society. In the end, it is up to women just as much as it is up to men if any change is going to be made. The entertainment industry knows that sex sells so until sales go down or ratings drop, I do not see an end to the current images.”
-Rachel, USA
Nowadays, women really have this feeling that they have to do things in certain ways to be able to catch up with the changing society. And now, if you would not flaunt your butt, breasts and much of your skin, men would not notice you and you would be a laughing stock. It is saddening but we could put a stop to this.
“I'm sorry, but its not about morals here its about money. Pay someone enough and they will do anything. The artist wants to make money, the producers, the writers, the dancers; they all want to make money.”
–Bec, Australia
I know there is a 'profit-motive' thing going on but we should not be selfish enough to think about making money and cause an awful lot of disgrace and immorality afterwards. Put a stripper or an almost naked girl in a scene would surely fire up the video. But it is not all about money. I totally disagree with putting morals aside.
"Even the title "candy" suggests that these women are less than people - that
they're just sweet things there to provide moments of pleasure to these hideous,
untalented, misogynistic rappers.”
–Laura, Dublin
These videos would surely be hits but they are not contributing to the industry, they are establishing an immoral and outrageous world where men think they are gods and things like their “fancy cars”, huge cribs, blings and even “women” as human beings, are treated like possessions and stuff that add up to a man’s status and “coolness." They begin to think they’re all over the world. It is NOT good. If it will continue to be like this, women in the future would be treated like slaves, sexual objects, ornaments or dirt. It’s such a disgrace. Ever heard of the word “respect” before? Because it is what the world needs and what we should have.

Living a tedious life, a monotony
I looked outside my window
Saying to myself, "There’s life out there"
If I walk out through that door
I’ve never thought, I’ve never known
The world is such a big old place
There’s more to meet and yet unknown
Too many people of a diff’rent race
It struck me then, I know I should
I’d make a thing worthwhile for me
If I’m just here, stuck in a neighborhood
I’ll never see what’s there for me to see
Reck'ning that something should be done
I packed my bags then waved goodbye
& walked the unfamiliar roads under the sun
telling myself this is something I should try
I walked and walked until I reached an end
Then on the other side, a new beginning
I wandered alone, lonely nights I spent
Deep inside, I knew it was worth trying
I reached a point, somewhere there
Meeting strange people really matters
As I walked with them, uncovered later
New places, new faces by crossing borders
