HAIL BARÇA!!!
Victory at the 2009 UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE!

Yes, people, this is NOT a dream. The 'dream final' indeed ended with FC Barcelona defeating Manchester United FC 2-0 in Rome. It was a fantastic match with a display of passes and moves beautifully executed by Barça . At the 10th minute, Eto'o scored a goal making the Spanish champions a bit ahead of the game. It was then followed by a brillant header by Messi at the 70th minute.

I was very surprised with the way United played earlier. Cristiano Ronaldo, the "World's greatest footballer", made a lot of attempts but they were all blah (feeble!) just like his performance at last year's Champions League. So, yeah, Barça took United's crown and Messi won as the league's top scorer. There is one thing I know for sure: This is only the beginning.

My love for Barça is growing.

In a few hours the DREAM FINAL is on! My heart is beating incredibly fast with excitement. I know a lot of football fans (including me!) has been waiting for this match. For those who don't know, the 2009 UEFA Champions League finals is scheduled to kick-off in Stadio Olimpico, Rome today (27 May).

Two of the greatest football teams, FC Barcelona and Manchester United, are set to play against each other. Two of the world's biggest players, Messi and Ronaldo, will also be paying sweat and tears for the glory of the game. With this, I truly believe that you should not miss this one hell of a match.

VAMOS! VAMOS! VIVA! BARÇA!
BTW, I do hope FC Barcelona will win their 3rd Champions League title. Woot Hoot! :)

There are statements that a ball game, similar to soccer, has been played 3000 years ago. In the Greek and Roman variants, teams could consist of up to 27 players. In 2nd and 3rd centuries BC the Chinese military played a similar game - the aim was to kick the ball into a small net. However, Britain remains the undisputed birthplace of modern soccer. It was a popular sport for the masses in Britain from the 8th century AD up until nowadays. However, it was a rather dangerous sport because hundreds of people took part in a single game and injuries were inevitable. That was the reason for several attempts to ban the game. But nothing could stop the people that loved soccer and the first world soccer competition was held in Uruguay in 1930.
