I truly believe that each and every one of us has gone through that "Boy band-lovin' (appreciatin', at least) PHASE"! But dear, we do love LFO! yea? Like really REALLY love LFO and their utterly nonsensical lyrics. Cherry Pez, cold crush, and rock star boogie, ANYONE??? Hahahah!

Since I’ve ran out of zany topics and trash-talks, I’m gonna share with you my experiences abroad (which I hope are quite interesting). First off is my quick trip to Dutch East Indies -- Indonesia! In an archipelago named Riau, lays the majestic island of Batam. It was a crazy morning I had just from the nauseous ferry trip and so when my 'rents and I arrived at Batam Center Ferry Terminal, it was such a relief to spot a peaceful town filled with lovely people.

Our first stop was Waterfront City where you can do lots of fun stuff like parasailing, bungee jumping, jet skiing, and more. I’m not really sure where exactly or what’s the name of the place but I did some go-karting too which was a lot of fun!

After that, we had lunch in a seafood restaurant built on wood and bamboo overlooking the sea view of north eastern coast of Batam. The food, however, I didn’t really enjoy that much. All I saw were pots and dishes of orangey soup and vegetables! No offense but I’m not exactly a fan of spicy chows. The only things I enjoyed there were the magnificent seascape and the delightful coconut juice. Hahah!

Then, we headed to a village called Kampong where we were entertained by the villagers with their amusing performance of the traditional Kuda Lumping Dance. It was absolutely wonderful.

A good trip never ends without a visit to the shopping district and so we went to Nagoya – the center of business and commerce in Batam. This unique town (with a Japanese name) has the biggest malls on the island. I got the chance to toddle around Ramayana Shopping Center and Mega Mall Batam Center. Although the shopping malls there are nothing compared to the ones here in the Philippines, I did enjoy just walking around, enjoying the people’s culture, and talking to different people. The Indonesians are just incredibly nice and awesome people, I dare say. Actually, there was an incident where I was approached by some store employees and asked me if I was an actress or something. That was deucedly hilarious! Also, I learned a lot from Indonesian artists. I happened to pass by an art gallery where I met an extraordinary painter who introduced to me a new style of painting. He paints and designs various crafts with images of palms, dolphins, and shells – all of which are breathtaking. It was because of his influence that I began painting aquatic images and the like. His skill and style had that enormous impact on my creations until today.

After a few hours of shopping, our tour guide led us to the great Balerang Bridge where, for some weird reason, I took most of the pictures. The bridge was so highly elevated that people actually go there to jump off when they're heartbroken bungee jump.

No doubt, Batam is a wonderful place for a getaway! I had one of the grandest times of my life there. However, next time I’ll head off to Jakarta for a more incredible nightlife experience. Hahah!

It's only been a few years since I started getting a tad serious about photography. I like taking pictures here and there but what really inspired me is the beauty of Japan, especially Kyoto. My stay in Japan has given me the opportunity to experiment with my surroundings using camera lens. I had a blast wandering around and just clicking on the cam whenever something interesting comes to view. So here are the photos I took ever since I got my own digicam. There are several shoot locations too - from San Francisco, to Las Vegas, to Tokyo, to Kobe, to Hiroshima, and around the Philippines. Enjoy! Comments are always welcome.

Bitch Mode!

I cannot believe this. You know, it’s just one of those days when you feel a wee bit “bitchy.” When you just want to drag someone down or curse random people under your breath. Certainly, it was neither merely finding an outlet for a mounting stress nor a terrible PMS. So, yeah, it was just “one of those days.”

The simple story goes like this: Last week, my brothers and I went for a quick visit to the mall to look for some carpentry stuff. As we all know, for safety measures, malls assign these security guards by the entrance to inspect people as they go in. I lined up and went for the ladies (w/o bags, etc.) area. I passed through hurriedly but then this lady guard reached out for me and checked my pockets. I snapped at her saying, “Don’t touch me!” It was incredibly nasty that I, myself, was shocked with what I just did. Horrible me! I did not even dare look back at her to see how she may have reacted. It is possible, though, that she glared at me and wished that I may perhaps trip any second. Hahaha!

Whoever you are, Lady Guard: I am deeply sorry. You became the unfortunate victim of “one of those days.”

One sunny Sunday, just after an early-morning football game, my friends and I decided to check out some surfboards at a nearby mall. So we entered this decent-looking Hawaiian surf shop and looked around if there’s something cool enough for us to purchase. Some of my friends were actually planning to get their own surfboards but since I’m yet to have my surfing lessons, I just went to the skateboard area. I checked out this incredibly hot longboard (I dreamt of having this one ever since I saw Trey* wheeled with one around Laguna Beach, CA), moving to and fro, looking all stupid. Hehe. Anyhoo, I was enjoying the ride when one sales guy/surfer/skaterboy approached me and asked me about my skateboarding experience. The next thing I know, he was asking me extremely personal questions as if he was planning to write me a biography. Haha! But silly me, I replied to him with utmost tolerance like he was a good ol’ friend. After all, he was incredibly easy to converse with and was very friendly towards me. TOO friendly, actually.

We were having this little tête-à-tête while my other friends were at the surfboard section and that’s when I felt uncomfortable. His questions began to alarm me. I excused myself and came over to join my friends. Two of them signed up on the shop’s logbook for them to be updated about the surfboards. So I just stood there, with all of my buds in front of the cashier, waiting to leave any second. Out of the blue, the sales guy walked in front of us and pointed at me saying, “That girl wearing black (which is obviously me) seems like a skilled surfer…” followed by a kinda-hard-to-decline request: “Why don’t you sign up?” I told them that I’m not much of a surfer so I’m not really sure if I’m interested. With that, he jumped beside me and gave me these skateboard blah-blah event fliers and offered me his mobile number just in case I wanted a heads-up. I did not buy it though. He was very insistent but then resorted with the just-give-us-your-number trick (could you be any more obvious?) and I went along with it and wrote down my name (which he repeated as I write) and mobile number. I felt awkward and I knew what he was really up to but I was too damn nice to let it happen. That clever guy! Haha. So anyway, now he’s sending me messages (so unprofessional, eh?) but I’m not replying. Now, who wins?

with friends (L-R) Orie, Shiz, DJ Natsuki, Amanda

trying to figure out the turntable at Jigen-ya

Okay. So I will just summarize what happened during the "One of The Best Days of My Life"...
November 09, 2007

My Japanese friend, a DJ of this hip club just near our university, gave me free party VIP passes so I invited some of my friends too. I decided to meet up with a friend at the gaijin (foreigner) benches and then went off to Jigen-ya (the club). We went inside, got our drink tickets and met lots of new people. [I'll use Taglish na kasi mahirap na baka maintindihan ni "someone". LOL]

And then... at the entrance pa lang super astig na ng dating! The band was rockin' big time tapos ang mas okay pa run eh 'yung vocalist nila ay effing gorgeous talaga! As in! I stared at him for minutes tapos grabe pa ung voice nya! I was screaming! Tapos English songs 'yung kinakanta niya kaya sabi ko 'SHUX! gaijin din siguro yun...' Tapos after ng band, reggae music naman... Super fun din. Nakakatuwa at para kaming nag-i-stop dance. LOL. After ng Reggae ay Hiphop at Rap Battle naman. Umakyat sa stage ung American friend ko tapos nag-rap siya... Yung first verses niya went like...

"Eigo de ii desu ka? Amerika kara kimashita..." (Is English okay? I am from America...)

LOL! I was laughing my ass off!!! Everyone was cheering then. It was so hilarious! ;)
And then... came hokey-pokey and house music. Tapos we got drinks and free shots of vodka from this wacky Japanese guy. Sobrang saya talaga! Teehee ;p

And then... I dunno what happened but suddenly I had the guts to approach the hot vocalist and then managed to have a quick yet stupid conversation with him. I think I was tipsy and that's why... LOL. I asked him if he was a gaijin because he can speak good English. He nodded; he's actually half-gaijin. And then I told him that he has a great voice and then hurried back to my friends. LOL!! Define FLIRT! Haha! After that was s**tloads of dancing and wrestling and throwing stuff at other people. LOL! I'm not kidding. I got hit by a jumping guy and a flying mask! And then I got stuck in the middle of drunk crazy guys who are grabbing and wrestling one another! I was so scared. The place freaked me out! LOL

And then... more dancing with *toooot*! The best part: while I was getting my bike readied up because we are heading off to karaoke... The HOT vocalist came up to me and asked if I was about to go home... And then a little chat and then poof! His name is E.D. !!! I got his name! Woop. I told him to visit us at the gaijin benches and he is more than welcome to hang out there. After that encounter, I was literally screaming and giggling to my girlfriends! I just can't believe it! HE talked to me!

And then... fun, fun, fun (!!) 'til morning at a karaoke bar with mah crazy mates. Then went home and took a decent shower. I sooo love that day!!!! I just reminisce the memory through and through ;)

Note: This is already summarized.
