Despite the initial positive feedback from a bunch of friends, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince surprisingly shamed my belittling expectations. I got pretty bored with the previous one so I didn't quite expect for the sixth installment to be this good. I thought the fourth movie would be unrivaled but I was mistaken. Now, I do believe the latest Harry Potter flick is the BEST yet!

The film was easy on the eyes and easy to digest all throughout. It never got me thinking 'til my bangs hurt. It never got me yawning 'til the credits. Aesthetically, it provided the audience some amazing visuals. There were several HIGH-larious and ludicrous scenes that I probably won't stop reminiscing for at least the next four weeks. I love how Bellatrix has more exposure this time. She's evil but I adore her! I love the captivating (sometimes silly) script (though the film wasn't superbly written), explosive effects, engaging beats, and the remarkable directing. Kudos to David Yates and to Nicholas Hooper and his leet score! The dragging and highly emotional scenes take a backseat and the funny side of the characters emerges. You will also see how the three tweens have matured and their acting chops have also improved. Also, there are a number of too-funny-for-words sexual innuendos that some of you may have noticed. The ending, you may find an absolute cliffhanger. But fret not because Harry's long adventure-filled search for the Horcruxes will soon follow.

Just some of my favorite parts of the movie are (Warning: Upcoming SPOILERS):
  1. The Christmas dinner with Professor Horace Slughorn. That McLaggen dude was bloody creepy!;
  2. The bedroom "guytalk" between Ron and Harry and how "Hermione has nice skin". It was the cutest yet awkward scene between the two bromancing wizards;
  3. The lovestoned Ron. This was the cutest I've seen Redhead Weasley so far! Ron is the ultimate comic relief;
  4. The Room of Requirement rendezvous of Harry and Ginny. Eeep! So cuuuuute but kinda childish!;
  5. Hermione and Harry talking about Romilda Vane... Hermione: "Hey, she's only interested in you because she thinks you're the Chosen One."
    Harry: "...But I AM the Chosen One!" Then Hermione hits him with a book;
  6. McLaggen and Harry's talk re:"Dragon Balls". OMG!;
  7. The cave scene with Dumbledore and Harry. One of the best scenes ever;
  8. The "drunk-like" Harry when he drank the Felix Felicis potion... Prof. Slughorn: "Harry!?" Harry: "Sir!?";
  9. Finally, the demented and obsessed Lavender (the Weasley Stalker) whose every scene was friggin' laughable and laudable. She was creepy yet incredibly funny.
According to Perezhilton.com, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince set records this week. "[It] made $104 million worldwide on its first day in theaters, making it the largest single day gross for a film release." And I bet it will outshine the others in the box-office film gross by the end of its screening period.

This movie is a must-watch! Prepare your heart and your bangs for a hilarious 153 minute-journey with Harry Potter and company.
