"Some (people) are born to sit by a river. Some have an ear for music. Some are artists. Some swim the English Channel. Some know buttons. Some know Shakespeare. Some are mothers. And some people can dance."
says Benjamin Button.

Also, let me reshape Twilight’s catchphrase:

"When you CAN’T live forever, what do you live for?"

It made me realize, maybe I haven’t experienced everything yet but I can say that I have quite remarkable accomplishments already. I make it a point to try to have fun as much as possible and think that time is undefined for me to have inhibitions.

Being in Japan truly opened up countless opportunities for me to discover, define, develop, and distend myself. I have discovered things within me: untapped potentials, inventiveness, and mental resources.

I remember:

  • Watching football games in a pub ‘til 7 in the morning and then straight to my 9 AM class
  • Living with a motorcycle for a couple of days
  • Crossing and swimming in a river downtown
  • Entering prohibited areas: an unoccupied yacht, top deck of a ferry boat, men’s bathroom, and forbidden rooftops
  • Swimming through a deadly river
  • Being inside a men’s shower room fully-clothed with naked men surrounding me
  • Riding my bike (no hands!) at 4 in the morning from downtown all the way home
  • Conquering Japan’s highest peak Mount Fuji
  • Sleeping at a train station, waiting for the earliest train, with some friends
  • Being featured in different local magazines
  • Going clubbing and getting drinks though I’m underage
  • Being friends with the hippest club DJs and getting free tickets and drinks
  • Belonging in the hottest hip-hop dance group in Kyoto
  • Working as a security guard once and having everyone stare at me in disbelief

Have I done enough at this point in time? No. But if my time is over, I can say, “It was fun and meaningful while it lasted.” I’ve been through a lot of things one can consider as risqué but I have no regrets whatsoever. I may have suffered a couple of bruises and heartbreaks still I’m adamant in saying that all of it was my choice. It has always been my choice. I choose what I do and who I want to be. I choose to have fun. I choose to be happy.

So that leaves me with this flaming question: Who will I be? What was I born to do? What do I live for?

Maybe I still am not sure and my future is yet to be determined. But I hope to BE

someone who enjoyed everything she has done

someone who found contentment

someone who made those people around her happy

someone who inspired others

someone who made a difference

someone who was proud of herself

Now, I’m working my way, step by step, towards these goals.

It is very rare for a film to have that tremendously exceptional impact on someone --- those perceived to be life-changing and inspiring. Once more, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button did it for me. Bridge to Terabithia (2007) and Pursuit of Happyness (2006) were also intense films that left me questioning myself for some time. It taught me to appreciate life and to have, at least, a purpose while sailing through it. It made me realize how our time here on earth is indefinite thus we must make the most out of it. Try things you haven’t done before. Smile like you haven’t before. Appreciate those little things around you. Value everything and everyone. Laugh your heart out. Live your life to the fullest.

The best thing that I’ve learned is: “Life is too short.

Life is too short to let anger and blame consume you

Life is too short to let life’s complexities stress you up

Life is too short to be weary and scared all the time

Life is too short to let your weaknesses overpower you

Life is too short to stay inside your closet

Life is too short to wait inside your room

Life is too short to have remorse overshadow you incessantly

Life is too short to be alone

Life is too short to resist sharing it with others

Life is too short to give up easily and not try to fight

Life is too short to not seek happiness

Life is too short to have enemies

Life is too short to procrastinate on showing affection

Life is too short to conceal your thoughts and feelings

Life is too short to not be yourself

Life is too short to not try to BECOME someone

Life is too short to not spark a change and inspire others

Despite the initial positive feedback from a bunch of friends, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince surprisingly shamed my belittling expectations. I got pretty bored with the previous one so I didn't quite expect for the sixth installment to be this good. I thought the fourth movie would be unrivaled but I was mistaken. Now, I do believe the latest Harry Potter flick is the BEST yet!

The film was easy on the eyes and easy to digest all throughout. It never got me thinking 'til my bangs hurt. It never got me yawning 'til the credits. Aesthetically, it provided the audience some amazing visuals. There were several HIGH-larious and ludicrous scenes that I probably won't stop reminiscing for at least the next four weeks. I love how Bellatrix has more exposure this time. She's evil but I adore her! I love the captivating (sometimes silly) script (though the film wasn't superbly written), explosive effects, engaging beats, and the remarkable directing. Kudos to David Yates and to Nicholas Hooper and his leet score! The dragging and highly emotional scenes take a backseat and the funny side of the characters emerges. You will also see how the three tweens have matured and their acting chops have also improved. Also, there are a number of too-funny-for-words sexual innuendos that some of you may have noticed. The ending, you may find an absolute cliffhanger. But fret not because Harry's long adventure-filled search for the Horcruxes will soon follow.

Just some of my favorite parts of the movie are (Warning: Upcoming SPOILERS):
  1. The Christmas dinner with Professor Horace Slughorn. That McLaggen dude was bloody creepy!;
  2. The bedroom "guytalk" between Ron and Harry and how "Hermione has nice skin". It was the cutest yet awkward scene between the two bromancing wizards;
  3. The lovestoned Ron. This was the cutest I've seen Redhead Weasley so far! Ron is the ultimate comic relief;
  4. The Room of Requirement rendezvous of Harry and Ginny. Eeep! So cuuuuute but kinda childish!;
  5. Hermione and Harry talking about Romilda Vane... Hermione: "Hey, she's only interested in you because she thinks you're the Chosen One."
    Harry: "...But I AM the Chosen One!" Then Hermione hits him with a book;
  6. McLaggen and Harry's talk re:"Dragon Balls". OMG!;
  7. The cave scene with Dumbledore and Harry. One of the best scenes ever;
  8. The "drunk-like" Harry when he drank the Felix Felicis potion... Prof. Slughorn: "Harry!?" Harry: "Sir!?";
  9. Finally, the demented and obsessed Lavender (the Weasley Stalker) whose every scene was friggin' laughable and laudable. She was creepy yet incredibly funny.
According to Perezhilton.com, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince set records this week. "[It] made $104 million worldwide on its first day in theaters, making it the largest single day gross for a film release." And I bet it will outshine the others in the box-office film gross by the end of its screening period.

This movie is a must-watch! Prepare your heart and your bangs for a hilarious 153 minute-journey with Harry Potter and company.

Okay. I'm really freaked out right now. Last Sunday, while we were at the church attending a mass, I noticed something on the church walls - a certain figure that turned out to be a mountain with some sort of smoke. So, clearly, I assumed it was a volcano. All of a sudden (I don't know what struck me), I blurted out to my brothers, "I think I just saw a sign. There's an upcoming volcanic eruption." My brothers looked at me as if I just said something ludicrous but I insisted that I have this unusual ability to foresee certain things. I feel weird saying this but what happened minutes ago just made my insides jolt with shock. While I was surfing on the internet, I stumbled onto a featured news regarding Mayon Volcano on the Yahoo! Philippines Homepage. According to the article, the volcano is currently showing signs of increased activity meaning there's a huge possibility that it might actually explode - a phreatic one to be exact. After all, Mayon Volcano is still an active one so we should always be forewarned. To view the whole article, check out this article.

Holy Macaroons! Am I the only one who's going ga-ga over these hunkilicious "wolf pack" of Jacob Black's?!? I would love to be running (and getting lost) in the middle of the forest at midnight if I would be chased by these hotties. Of course, Taylor Lautner(Jacob Black), the kid who put on 20 pounds worth of muscle (!), is with no doubt the epic gor-geoisie of them all (wolves) .. though I won't ignore Alex, Bronson, Kiowa and their tattoos. So whose side are you on? The handsome and testosterone-filled quintet of werewolves or still the one and only dazzlingly beautiful vampire Edward Cullen?
